All find what they truly seek.            – C.S. Lewis

Ask and it will be given
Seek and you will find

Knock and it will open

Guaranteed

Motivations are key to this

It’s not about surface talk,

sometimes, it’s not even

what you THINK you’re seeking

but under all

within all

is what you truly seek

and that is what you will find.

Really it is what will find you.

Be careful of your choices –

because you will always find

what you seek

is seeking you

One new perception, one fresh thought, one act of surrender, one change of heart, one leap of faith, can change your life forever. — Robert Holden

You see, people have some really crazy ideas about love, friends and relationships. They have the absurd belief that their friends, children, family, lovers and companions can make them happy. Love is by, for and about you, and it never had anything to do with another person. The love you bring to the table, is a way of living that you have been practicing in your life — and that love can be needy, controlling, selfish, conditional and desperate, or it can be confident, open, giving, unconditional, and secure. Your love capability is something you cultivate within yourself. Loving is like any other art-craft where the masters have carefully practiced and where the novices have languished in their carelessness. This is why some relationships look so beautiful, and some look so tragic — beauty belongs to the thoughtful; tragedy to the neglectful.

beauty in all she is

It’s true, what all our heroes say. There is a way

in this world for beauty,

for good. It may

be a crooked path

in a tanglewood, but

stay the course and,

when the way grows rocky,

walk your horse,
and who knows, you may yet

come upon the wild rose,

as I have done, and,

paying close attention,

keep from crushing her into

the grime, and then,

with any luck, in time

remember how you found her

and how to find her again

when the way gets wilder.

To a Wild Rose by Todd Boss

In the Celtic tradition, there is a beautiful understanding of love and friendship. One of the fascinating ideas here is the idea of soul-love; the old Gaelic term for this is anam ċara. Anam is the Gaelic word for soul and ċara is the word for friend. … In the early Celtic church, a person who acted as a teacher, companion, or spiritual guide was called an anam Ċara. It originally referred to someone to whom you confessed revealing the hidden intimacies of your life. With the anam ċara you could share your innermost self, your mind, and your heart. This friendship was an act of recognition and belonging. … In everyone’s life there is great need for an anam ċara, a soul friend, in this love you are understood as you are without mask or pretension. Where you are understood, you are at home.

transformations

There is a teaching that says that behind all hardening and tightening and rigidity of the heart, there’s always fear. But if you touch fear, behind fear there is a soft spot. And if you touch that soft spot, you find the vast blue sky. You find that which is ineffable, ungraspable, and unbiased, that which can support and awaken us at any time.

communication

the bright, glowing world opens my heart in beauty –

 there’s this summer song

of cool wind on my skin,

playing sweet, soft percussion through the tall, lush marsh grass

gentle water laps at the sand

invisible birds singing in surround sound

visible ones splash and dive for breakfast

patient, yet very aware

my heart resonates with the language we have spoken

the songs we have sung

the rich vibrations of our connection

over the past months…

over the past two days…

today’s fresh sun warms my back

my shadow sits large

writing poems

this morning

this day

this moment

in silence birthing

my gratitude

my pleasure

 my gift

my life

thank you

for being you,

for reaching out,

for holding my hand

and my heart 💞

water ditty’s

 Sit and be still
until in the time

of no rain you hear

beneath the dry wind’s

commotion in the trees

the sound of flowing

water among the rocks,

a stream unheard before,

and you are where

breathing is prayer.

VI: Sabbaths 2001 [Sit and be still] by Wendell Berry

There is only one way, aging beauties,

to go down this river,

to hear the water’s music over the rocks,

to find a loving I, Thou, Who.

I say, spring out of the boat,

jump in naked, tender,

with your ferocious heart torn open.

holy ground

There is grace on ground like this…

we can say that every step we take

of every day we live

Wherever we are is sacred ground

every bush we see burning with holy

every rock singing glory

every bird testament of abundance

every flower testament to extravagant love

every waterfall

every rainbow

and moonbow

and drop of the summer rain

shimmers with promise

rocks standing firm in the faith

glittering in sunshine

every person you meet has the same value

the same source

we are all made of stars

held together with mud

breathing the breath of the creator

the matter of the universe

life and death our greatest gifts

the space between can be our heaven

or the darkest shades of hell

we choose our path with every decision

free will is our constant companion

love, and connection, our greatest needs

choices are most important

wake up and guard them well

soul listening

The intellect wants a summary meaning – all well and good for the purposeful nature of the mind. But the soul craves depth of reflection, many layers of meaning, nuances without end, references and allusions and prefigurations. All these enrich the texture of an image or story and please the soul by giving it much food for rumination.                                                           – Thomas Moore

You’ll know you’ve made the right decision when there is peace in your heart. Stop listening to what the world says you should do. Start listening to your own heart. There are only a few people in this world who will stay completely true to you, and YOU should be one of them. Listen to your own voice, your own soul, too many people listen to the noise of the world, instead of themselves. Deep inside, you know what you want, let no one decide that for you. — Unknown

Where does that singing start, you know,
that thin sound—almost pure light?

Not the birds at false dawn or their song

when morning comes, feathered throats

warm with meaning. A different kind of music.
Listen, it is somewhere near you.

In the heart, emptied of fear,

stubbornly in love

with itself at last, the old

desires a ruined chorus,

a radiant bloody choir.
Where does the singing start?

Here, where you are, there’s room

between your heartbeats,

as if everything you have ever been

begins, inside, to sing.

Love has feet that walk it through time.     – Jeff Brown

Every choice is always the wrong choice,
Every vote cast is always cast away-

How can truth hover between alternatives?
Then love me more than dearly, love me wholly,

Love me with no weighing of circumstance,

As I am pledged in honour to love you:
With no weakness, with no speculation

On what might happen should you and I prove less

Than bringers-to-be of our own certainty.

Neither was born by hazard: each foreknew

The extreme possession we are grown into.
