how do you love?
Love can be hard. Love requires you to be kind when you are angry, patient when you feel anxious, compassionate when you judge others, caring when you feel apathetic, trust when you’ve been wronged, let go when you want to hold on, know that the other person is you, take risks when you’re scared, to always see the lesson and never look back once you’ve decided.

I love this. Probably because I know I’ve failed at all of the above.
Although seeing the lesson isn’t hard, it’s remembering the lesson so as to not repeat mistakes.
I think you love this because you know it’s true, not because you have failed in all these ways. Seeing the lesson isn’t hard and remembering the lesson isn’t hard. It’s being human that’s often hard. We make mistakes, and we try harder, and we still makes mistakes. Loving is not somehow never making another selfish mistake. Loving is feeling and saying “I love you”… the end.
