circles of love
I create my first circle at 4:37a
Standing in the silence
shadows and light reflected
allowing the deepest internal work
of unknowing to gestate
seeds, yet to crack,
words, yet to come,
deep calling to deep
the greatest spiritual mystery
there is no explanation
for when, or how,
the Phoenix rises triumphant
after waiting in the cold dark
for so long seemingly dead
not yet ready
or knowing how to bloom
into the colors of new dreams
with roots spreading as maps
across the pages of unwritten future
I am letting go of all my clinging
dead flowers thrown away
I am opening a fresh book of paper
erasing the old black ink staining my fingers
No longer needing to cling to what didn’t work
ready to be reminded
this is a new day full of beauty
creation is ever changing to meet me in this very moment
everything is coming into balance
I am satisfied with what is
right in this moment
I am eager for more than I could ever imagine
in the ones upcoming
the sun is faithfully coming up
as I return to my bed to sleep

You have traveled too fast over false ground;
Now your soul has come, to take you back.
Take refuge in your senses, open up
To all the small miracles you rushed through.
Become inclined to watch the way of rain
When it falls slow and free.
Imitate the habit of twilight,
Taking time to open the well of color
That fostered the brightness of day.
Draw alongside the silence of stone
Until its calmness can claim you.
⁃ John O’Donohue
in the world between worlds
where the shimmering abstract
holds all the secrets within us
words are absent
no scripture exists
there are no definitions
as there is no need for such things
in our eternal knowing
we are ever-being known
the mystic colors of God fill us
unseeable in this earthly realms obscured vision
they hold us there
where we don’t need to be understood
or understand anything
we are simply
all we could ever hope to be
we are the lover and the beloved
eternal love
eternally loved
complete
You in I
I in you
one
Kneel there in silence as long as you can
Then, when you feel that you cannot take the glory one more moment…
Hold yourself there in that place
for one more heartbeat…
